Vila Nova de Gaia

Description

On your left, you can see Vila Nova de Gaia, the city where all the famous Port Wine cellars are located. Since the 17th century, these cellars have been used for the aging and storage of the world-renowned Port Wine. Historically, the wine was transported in casks from the Douro Valley aboard the traditional 'rabelo' boats—the historic vessels that you can still see anchored along the riverbank today.
